DRAFT DUMPING AT SEA REGULATIONS

The Minister of Environmental Affairs has published for public comment, the draft Dumping at Sea Regulations in terms of sections 83(1)(g), (h), (k) and (r) of the National Environmental Management: Integrated Coastal Management Act 24 of 2008, as set out in the schedule to this notice.
The Regulations provide for, inter alia, the procedure to follow when applying for a dumping permit; the assessment of and decision on such applications and the procedure regulating emergency dumping at sea.
Members of the public are invited to submit written comments by 30 January 2015..
