DECLARATION OF TEMPORATY ASPHALT PLANTS AS A CONTROLLED EMITTER

The Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs has, in terms of section 23(1) read with section 24 of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act 39 of 2004, declared temporary asphalt plants as a controlled emitter and established emission standards as set out in the schedule thereto.

New temporary asphalt plants are required to comply with the new temporary asphalt plants emission standards as contained in this notice. Existing temporary asphalt plants must comply with the existing temporary asphalt plants emission standards as contained in this notice within 5 years from the date of publication of this notice, being by 28 March 2019.
