NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: AIR QUALITY ACT, 2004 (39/2004): LIST OF ACTIVITIES WHICH RESULT IN ATMOSPHERIC EMISSIONS WHICH HAVE OR MAY HAVE A SIGNIFICANT DETRIMENTAL EFFECT ON THE ENVIRONMENT, INCLUDING HEALTH, SOCIAL CONDITIONS, ECONOMIC CONDITIONS, ECOLOGICAL CONDITIONS OR CULTURAL HERITAGE

The Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs has, in terms of section 21 of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act 39 of 2004, amended the list of activities which result in atmospheric emissions which have or may have a significant detrimental effect on the environment, including health, social conditions, economic conditions, ecological conditions or cultural heritage. The effect of this notice is that the listed activities promulgated in terms of the Act under GNR 248 on 31 March 2010 are repealed and replaced hereby.

This notice has, inter alia, included additional activities which require an atmospheric emission licence in terms of the NEMQA and has also amended the minimum emission standards for certain activities.
