Heritage Western Cape has, in terms of section 27(2) of the NHRA, formally protected the archaeological and paleontological sites, unmarked burials, the landscape and natural features of cultural significance and structures situated on or at Portion 3 of Farm Groote Drift 5, Piketberg district, known as "Diepkloof Rock Shelter".
