The Minister of Environmental Affairs has, in terms of section 8 of the World Heritage Convention Act 49 of 1999, declared Members of the Executive Council responsible for Economic Development, Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development in the Gauteng Province as the Management Authority responsible for the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site for a period of five years subject to a performance review.
