NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: PROTECTED AREAS ACT (57/2008): INTENTION TO DECLARE AN AREA AS A NATURE RESERVE

The MEC for the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has given notice, in terms of section 33(1) of the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act 57 of 2003, of her intention to declare the following areas as nature reserves in accordance with section 23 of the Act:

a)       Voortrekker Monument Nature Reserve;
b)       Groenkloof Nature Reserve;
c)       Klapperkop Nature Reserve;
d)       Rietvlei Nature Reserve; and
e)       Roodeplaat Nature Reserve.

Members of the public are invited to make written submissions to the head of the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development within 60 days from the date of the notices, marked for the attention of Mr Terence Venter (i.e. by 5 May 2014).
