The Eden District Municipality has enacted and published in accordance with the provisions of section 24 of the Constitution, read with section 84 of the Local Government: Municipal Structures Act 117 of 1998, the District Waste Management By-Law. The By-Law provides for, inter alia, the promotion of sustainable development and environmental justice through fair and reasonable measures for the management of waste within the Municipality’s area of jurisdiction.
