The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has published for public comment, the draft National Veld and Forest Fire Amendment Bill which is intended to amend the NVFFA.
The Bill, inter alia, intends to provide a clear definition of veldfire and to set out the role of the Traditional Leaders and Councils with regard to veldfire management.
Members of the public are invited to submit written comments within 30 days of the date of the publication of this notice (i.e. on or before 20 April 2015).
