The MEC responsible for Economic Development, Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development in the Gauteng Province has, in terms of sections 70, 71, 72 and 73 of the NEM:WA, published the draft Gauteng Waste Information Regulations for public comment.
The draft Regulations, inter alia, oblige waste generators; waste transporters; waste disposal site operators; waste treatment facility operators; and recyclers or waste processors to register and/or submit waste information on a regular basis to the Gauteng Waste Information System, a web-based provincial waste information system.
Members of the public are invited to submit written representations to the draft Regulations within 30 days of publication of this notice (i.e. on or before 26 June 2015).
