MINE HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT (29/1996): GUIDELINE FOR MANDATORY CODE OF PRACTICE ON THE PROVISION OF PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR WOMEN IN THE SOUTH AFRICAN MINING INDUSTRY

The Chief Inspector of Mines has, in terms of section 49(6) of the MHSA, issued the guideline on the provision of personal protective equipment for women in the South African mining industry as detailed in the schedule to this notice.

The objective of this guideline is to provide guidance to the employer at every mine to compile a mandatory code of practice which would assist employers in providing suitable personal protective equipment for women in mining where required.
