NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: PROTECTED AREAS ACT (57/2003): INTENTION TO DECLARE NATURE RESERVES AND PROTECTED ENVIRONMENTS

The MEC for Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism has, in terms of section 33(1)(a) of the NEMPAA, given notice of his intention to -

  • Declare the Baviaanskloof Nature Reserve in terms of section 23(1)(b) of the NEMPAA on the properties set out under paragraph 1 of the schedule to the notice;
  • Declare the Sam Knott Nature Reserve in terms of section 23(1)(b) of the NEMPAA on the properties set out under paragraph 2 of the schedule to the notice;
  • Declare the Skilderkrantz Nature Reserve in terms of section 23(1)(b) of the NEMPAA on the properties set out under paragraph 3 of the schedule to the notice;
  • Declare the Cedarville Protected Environment in terms of section 23(1)(b) of the NEMPAA on the properties set out under paragraph 4 of the schedule to the notice;
  • Declare the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University Nature Reserve in terms of section 23(1)(b) of the NEMPAA on the properties set out under paragraph 5 of the schedule to the notice;

Members of the public are invited to submit written comments within 60 days from the date of this notice (i.e. on or before 8 February 2016).
