The MEC of the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs has, in terms of section 119 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, given notice of intention to introduce the KwaZulu-Natal Environmental, Biodiversity and Protected Areas Management Bill 2014.
The Bill will provide for, inter alia, the establishment of 'Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife' ("EKW"), which is responsible for the protection of the environment in the Province as a whole. Further, the Bill makes provision for the operation, management and administration of the EKW.
Members of the public are invited to submit written representations within 30 days of the publication of this notice (i.e. on or before 27 March 2015).
