The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has published a notice indicating exemptions in terms of section 7(1) and 15(1) of the National Forest Act 84 of 1998 in respect of trees in natural forests and protected trees.  A list of exempted activities, trees and products are set out in the Schedules to this notice that indicate that which may be undertaken in respect of a protected tree or in a natural forest without the need for a licence in term of the Act.
