The Minister of Environmental Affairs has given notice of her intention to make amendments to the National Waste Information Regulations, 2012, under section 69(1)(t), (y), (aa) and (ee) read with section 73 of the NEM:WA.
The proposed amendments affect inter alia: persons who must register in the South African Waste Information System (SAWIS); the Generation, Recovery; Recycling; Treatment and Disposal (R, R, T D) of Waste; the Exportation and Transportation of Hazardous Waste; Reporting requirements; Waste Types for reporting to the SAWIS; Waste Management Methods and matters incidental thereto.
Members of the public were to submit their written representations regarding the proposed amendments to the Minister of Environmental Affairs, 30 days after publication of the aforementioned Notice.
