NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: BIODIVERISITY ACT (10/2004): DETERMINATION OF BIOREGIONS AND PUBLICATION OF BIOREGIONAL PLANS UNDER SECTION 40 (1)

The MEC of the Gauteng Department of Economic Development, Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development has, in terms of section 40(1) of the NEMA, determined the areas of jurisdiction of the West Rand District Municipality and Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality to be bioregions, in order to facilitate the management and conservation of biodiversity. The bioregional plan for each of the aforesaid bioregions is attached as schedules to this notice.
