NATIONAL WATER ACT (36/1998): REGULATIONS REGARDING THE PROCEDURAL REQUIREMENTS FOR WATER USE LICENCE APPLICATIONS AND APPEALS

The Minister of Water and Sanitation has, in terms of sections 26(1)(k) and 41(6) of the NWA, published the Regulations Regarding the Procedural Requirements for Water Use Licence Applications and Appeals.

The purpose of these Regulations is to prescribe the procedure and requirements for water use licence applications as contemplated in sections 40 and 41 of the NWA, including, inter alia, the provisions pertaining to pre-application enquiry meetings, site inspections, technical reports and public participation processes.

The Regulations furthermore prescribe the procedure in respect of an appeal to the Minister in terms of section 41(6) of the Act.
