The South African Heritage Resources Agency has, in terms of section 27 of the NHRA, declared the West Coast Fossil Park, fully described in the schedule to this notice, as a National Heritage Site and has awarded formal protection of all archaeological and paleontological sites, landscapes and natural features of cultural significance, structures and unmarked burials situated on or at the West Coast Fossil Park.
