The Minister of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries, has by Notice in the Gazette extended the comment period on the protocols for the assessment of environmental impacts and minimum report content requirements for environmental themes and activities requiring environmental authorisation, as published in Government Notice No. 9 of Government Gazette No. 42946 on 10 January 2020. The period has been extended until 24 March 2020.
In addition, the abovementioned Notice provides the URL for the Species Environmental Assessment Best Practice Guideline referred to in the protocols published under Government Notice No. 9 in Government Gazette No. 42946 on 10 January 2020, and corrects the URLs for accessing the South African National Red List for animal and plant species as follows:
- The Species Environmental Assessment Best Practice Guideline will be available at http:ilbgis.sanbi.org/ as from the 24 February 2020;
The URL for the South African National Red List for animal species is changed from
htip://b.grs.speciesstatus.sanbi.org/ to http://speciesstatus.sanbi.org/; and
- The URL for the South African National Red List for plant species is changed fromhttp://bgis.speciesstatus.sanb.org/ to http.//redlist.sanbi.org/
Members of the public are therefore invited to submit written comments or inputs on the protocols no later than 24 March 2020.
