NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: WASTE ACT (59/2008): NOTICE INDICATING THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WASTE STREAMS OR PORTIONS OF WASTE STREAMS FROM THE DEFINITION OF WASTE FOR BENEFICIAL USE

The Minister of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries has by notice in the Gazette and under regulation 8(4) of the Waste Exclusion Regulations, 2018 published under Government Notice No. 715 in Gazette No. 41777 of 18 July 2018, declared the exclusion of the waste streams or portions of waste streams, from the definition of "waste" as contained in the National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008 (Act No. 59 of 2008), for the purposes of certain permitted uses. The exclusion only applies to the identified waste streams or portions of waste streams, which originates from the facilities indicated in the schedule that is referred in the notice same which is not attached and in respect of the identified permitted uses.
NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: INTEGRATED COASTAL MANAGEMENT ACT (24/2008): COMMENCEMENT OF SECTION 11 OF THE ACT

The President has by notice in the Gazette and in terms of section 101 of the National Environmental Management: Integrated Coastal Management Act, 2008 (Act No. 24 of 2008), declared that section 11 of the said Act shall come into operation on the date of the publication of this proclamation in the Gazette. The section provides for ownership of coastal public property to vest in the citizens of the republic, to be held in trust by the state, and which ownership is inalienable.
NATIONAL WATER ACT (36/1998): DETERMINATION OF WATER RESOURCE CLASSES AND RESOURCE QUALITY OBJECTIVES FOR THE MZIMVUBU CATCHMENT

The Minister of Water and Sanitation has by notice in the Gazette and in terms of section 13(1) of the National Water Act, 1998 (Act No. 36 of 1998) determined the classes of water resources and the resource quality objectives, for the Mzimvubu catchment.

The Provincial Minister of Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning in the Western Cape has by notice in the Gazette and under section 33(1)(a) of the NEMPAA, 2003 (Act 57 of 2003), declared the Haarwegskloof Nature Reserve in terms of section 23(1)(a)(i) of that Act on:Remainder of the Farm No. 407, situated in the Swellendam Municipality, Division of Bredasdorp, Western Cape Province In extent: 547, 7954 (Five Hundred and Forty-Seven comma Seven Nine Five Four) Hectares; Held by Deed of Transfer No. T1605/2014. Members of the public are invited to submit written representations on or objections to the proposed declaration of the Haarwegskloof Nature Reserve within 60 days from the date of publication of this notice in the Provincial Gazette.
