The Swellendam Municipality has, under the provisions of section 156 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, enacted the By-Law pertaining to the Prevention of Public Nuisances.
The by-law makes provision for general provisions relating to public nuisances and regulates, inter alia, the dumping of any objectionable matter in order to prevent the occurrence of public nuisances.
