NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: BIODIVERSITY ACT (10/2004): PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE INVASIVE SPECIES LIST AND PROPOSED LISTING OF SPECIES THAT ARE THREATENED OR PROTECTED, RESTRICTED ACTIVITIES THAT ARE PROHIBITED AND EXEMPTION FROM RESTRICTION

The Minister of Environmental Affairs has given notice that she intends to amend the Invasive Species List published in terms of section 70(1)(a) of NEM:BA. The amendment includes the removal of the Diceros bicomis michaeli (Eastern black rhinoceros) from the list in accordance with section 72 of the NEM:BA and the listing of such species as a Protected Species in terms of section 56(1)(d) of the NEM:BA.

Members of the public were invited to submit written comments within 30 days of the publication of this notice.
