Heritage Western Cape has, in terms of section 27(2) of the NHRA, declared the archaeological and paleontological sites; unmarked burials; the landscape and natural features of cultural significance; and structures situated on portion 72 and 73 of farm Blomboschfontien 495 in Rivers-dal, Hessequa as formally protected under section 27 of the NHRA.

Furthermore, Heritage Western Cape has, in terms of section 27 of the NHRA, declared the Blomboschfontein Nature Reserve as a Provincial Heritage Site.
