NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: AIR QUALITY ACT (39/2004): DECLARATION OF GREENHOUSE GASES AS PRIORITY AIR POLLUTANTS

The Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs has, in terms of section 29(1) read with section 57(1) of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act 39 of 2004, given notice of her intention to declare the greenhouse gases as priority air pollutants and to require a person undertaking an activity as set out in the Schedule to this notice and emitting greenhouse gases in excess of 0.1 Megatonnes (109 kg) (Mt) or more annually or measured as CO2-eq to prepare and submit for approval a pollution prevention plan as set out in this Notice.

Members of the public are invited to submit written representations to this notice to the Minister, marked for the attention of Mr A M Makwarela, within 30 days after the publication of this notice (i.e. by 14 April 2014).
