The Minister of Environmental Affairs has given notice, in terms of section 97 read with section 100 of NEM:BA, that she intends to make regulations for the domestic trade in rhinoceros horns. The regulations will focus on the giving; donating; buying; receiving; accepting as a gift or donation; or in any way disposing or acquiring, and the export from the Republic of South Africa, of rhinoceros horn, or a part, product or derivative of such rhinoceros horn.
Members of the public were invited to submit written comments within 30 days of the publication of this notice.
