The Minister of Labour has, in terms of section 43 of the OSHA made the Driven Machinery Regulations, 2015, which repeal the Driven Machinery Regulations, 1988. Regulation 23(1) of the Driven Machinery Regulations, 2015 provides that a user of a goods hoist as provided for in regulation 17 of the Driven Machinery Regulations, 1988 must, within five years, comply with the provisions of the Lift, Escalator and Passenger Conveyor Regulations, 2010, in which "Access Goods only Lift" is defined.
