NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT ACT (107/1998): PUBLICATION FOR COMMENTS: EXCLUSIONS AND MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR LISTED ACTIVITIES TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE REQUIREMENT TO OBTAIN AN ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION

The MEC for the Gauteng Department of Economic Development, Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development has given notice of her intention to, in terms of sections 24(2)(d) and 24(10) of the NEMA, to publish the Gauteng Provincial Environmental Management Framework’s Exclusions and Minimum Standards for the listed activities to be excluded from the requirement to obtain an environmental authorisation.

The purpose of the standards will be to, inter alia, identify activities listed in terms of the NEMA that will be excluded from the requirement to obtain an environmental authorisation and to set the minimum standards with which such activities need to comply.

Members of the public are invited to submit written comments within 30 days from the date of publication of this notice (i.e. on or before 29 April 2016).
