The Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs has, in terms of section 19(2)(b), read with section 19(10)(b) of the NEM:WA, amended the List of Waste Management Activities which have or are likely to have a detrimental effect on the environment by the deletion of activity 3(8): remediation of contaminated land such that a waste management licence is no longer required for such remediation. However, the provisions of the NEM:WA pertaining to contaminated land must be complied with.
