The Minister of Water and Sanitation has, in terms of the NWA, given notice of her intention to publish the Mine Water Management Policy.
The purpose of the policy is to provide the position of the DWS on mine water management, including acid mine drainage and to provide measures on the protection of water resources from prospective operational and historical mine activities that have negative quality impacts.
Members of the public are invited to submit written comments to the policy within 60 days of the date of publication of this notice (i.e. on or before 5 September 2017).
