The Minister of Environmental Affairs has given notice of her intention to establish the National Pricing Strategy for Waste Management Charges in terms of section 13A read with sections 72 and 73 of the NEMWA, as set out in the schedule to this notice.
The Strategy contains guiding methodologies for the setting of waste management charges aimed at funding the re-use, recycling or recovery of waste and makes provision for an Action Plan which provides for a detailed outline of how various actions emanating from the strategy will be implemented and also for the associated timeframes for said implementation.
Members of the public are invited to submit written representations within 60 days of publication of this notice (i.e. on or before 7 April 2015).
