MINERAL AND PETROLEUM RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT ACT (28/2002): INVITATION FOR REPRESENTATIONS FROM RELEVANT STAKEHOLDERS ON A PROPOSED RESTRICTION UNDER SECTION 49(1) OF THE MINERAL AND PETROLEUM RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT ACT, 2002 (ACT 28 OF 2002) ON THE GRANTING OF RECONNAISSANCE PERMITS, TECHNICAL CO-OPERATION PERMITS, EXPLORATION RIGHTS AND PRODUCTION RIGHTS IN TERMS OF SECTIONS 74, 76, 79 AND 83 OF THE ACT

The Minister of Mineral Resources has given notice of her intention to restrict the granting of all new onshore and offshore applications for reconnaissance permits, technical co-operation permits, exploration rights and production rights in terms of sections 74, 76, 79 and 83 of the Act. The restriction would be applicable to all applications received from the date of publication of this notice for a period of 2 years from such date.

Members of the public were invited to submit comments within 30 days of this notice.
