The South African Heritage Resources Agency has, in terms of section 27(5) of the NHRA, declared the parliament of South Africa, a National Heritage Site. The significance of the property is understood as having historical value, aesthetic value, scientific value, social value and exhibits rarity and qualities that speak a universal language, that of Representivity.
