WASTE MANAGEMENT BY-LAW

The Municipal Manager published, in terms of section 13 of the Local Government Municipal Systems Act 32 of 2000 read with section 162 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa Act 108 of 1996, the Waste Management By-Law, which comes into operation on the date of publication of this notice (i.e. 23 December 2014).

The by-law regulates, inter alia, the avoidance, minimisation, generation, collection, cleaning and disposal of waste. Further, the by-law makes provision for the appointment of a Waste Management Officer and the adoption of an Integrated Waste Management Plan within the area of the Municipality.
