The MEC for Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism gave notice in respect of the plan pertaining to environmental management on the Wild Coast of the Province of the Eastern Cape under section 24(3) of the NEMA. The purpose of this environmental management plan for the Wild Coast is for the Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism to, in terms of its dual mandate of both economic development and environmental management, establish a planning instrument to guide and facilitate development and sustainable use of the Wild Coast.
Members of the public were requested to submit comments on the Environmental Management Plan in respect of the Wild Coast, which comment period closed on Friday 8 August 2014.
