Johan obtained his LLB degree in 2017 from the University of the Free State, followed by an LLM degree in Private Law from the same institution in 2019. Johan started his articles at MacRobert Inc in 2019 and assisted in both the Professional Indemnity Law Department and the Commercial Law Department during this time. Johan was admitted as an attorney in 2021 and is appointed as a Senior Associate in the Professional Indemnity Law Department at MacRobert Inc, where he assists healthcare practitioners with various aspects of medical law, including HPCSA related matters (such as complaints and inquiries), civil litigation and advice on various medico-legal issues.
